Have a stupid but good friend who got arrested for a DUI in California. Need Advice.?

I know it was stupid enough of Mike to get behind the wheel while drunk. I am prepared to read all the buckets of "Serves him right" answers I know I'll get. I've given him that speech myself. Fact is he saved my life in Laos when we were in the service and no matter what, I must help this man. If it were not for him, I'd be in Arlington and Mom would have a folded American flag in a triangular box to remember me by. I took vacation and signed him up with AA this morning. Time is a HUGE factor. Any CA officer out there feel kind enough to tell me what the codes in the charges section mean? On the notice to appear the numbers are 23152(A)/23152(B). He was released on his own recognizance. I know he now has a DUI and was stupid enough to scuffle with them but the fact there are two numbers (and he came back pretty scd up) leads me to think much more than the loss of his license might be in store for him. Fool can't even remember it all. Please help. This is a debt I can never repay. At least I can tell him what he's in for and drag him to those AA meetings to keep him alive and everyone else safe.
