For North Carolinians (or former residents)...concerning our older residents on a fixed income.?

How do you feel about the way the state is treating the older resident. Many are loosing their homes from the high taxes and are being forced into poverty while the lawmakers fight and bicker with each other in Raleigh. Your thoughts?
