Where is a good place to camp in New York that is easily accessible by public transportation from NYC?

I am a student in NYC and want to go camping come september. I don't have a car and only get around on public transportation. Where is a good place to camp that easily accessible by public trans (bus or train) from NYC and isn't too far upstate?
